Ulagan is a Xaela from the Qestir tribe.
He's not particularly tall for an Au Ra, which might make him look less intimidating if he weren't built like a brick wall. Fortunately, being naturally predisposed to a more muscular build has turned out to be useful in keeping away unsavoury customers and wild animals both.As a Qestir, he doesn't talk. He actually can't speak at all, having been raised without language as a child and with vocal chords unused to anything more than the occasional grunt. He doesn't like to sign or write, either, except to introduce himself by name; however, he understands that it is sometimes necessary and will (reluctantly) write or sign when he needs to.He shares the belief of his tribe that words aren't to be trusted, although he's easy to befriend with kind gestures.He habitually rounds the ends of his horns down, originally intending to make them less intimidating, but nowadays he simply prefers them to be less sharp so they're not as destructive. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt!He currently works as a bouncer, though prior to this he plied his trade as a woodcarver/lumberjack. He still carves as a hobby, and occasionally sets up his old stall in the markets when he's in the mood for it.As you can see from his hair and makeup choices, he loves the colour blue, although he dresses in his tribe's traditional colours for casual wear.Originally from the Azim Steppe, he still visits home every few years to check on his family.
